Yoon brings to the Council oculoplastic expertise
BALTIMORE, Maryland, April 10, 2023 – Versant Health today announced that Michael Yoon, M.D., will be adding his expertise as a thought leader and respected oculoplastic specialist to the company’s Medical Policy Council. The Council plays an integral role in growing Versant Health’s profile as one of the leading managed eye health and vision care administrators in the nation.
Dr. Yoon is a leader in the field of ophthalmic plastic surgery specializing in the medical and surgical diseases of the eyelids, lacrimal system, and orbit. His clinical interest is in diseases of the orbit, namely trauma, benign and malignant tumors, thyroid eye disease, and skull base surgery. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Teaching Hospital of Harvard Medical School and is a fellow of the prestigious American Society for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
His experiences have translated in clinical research interests, where he has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, case reports and book chapters, and serves on the Mass Eye and Ear Clinical Operations Group and Surgical Case Committee addressing operational issues and reviewing appropriate indications for surgery. He is currently supervising a ClinicalTrials.gov study, creating a national database for orbital fungal infections, as well as editing two textbooks in press.
