Versant Health to Participate in 2021 Go Red for Women Day Baltimore Chapter

Chief Accounting Officer, Kimberly Davis, named as 2021 Baltimore Campaign Chair

Baltimore, Maryland, February 1, 2021 – Today, Versant Health, a leading managed vision care company, announced their participation in the American Heart Association’s 2021 Go Red For Women Day in their home base of Baltimore. With Versant Health’s support, Kimberly Davis, Chief Accounting Officer, has been named the 2021 Baltimore Go Red for Women Chair. In addition to Kimberly’s involvement, Elizabeth Klunk, Senior Vice President of Medical Management, and Hayley Ellington-Buckles, Senior Vice President of Operations, will participate on the initiative’s executive committee.

The Go Red for Women Campaign is a global platform created by the American Heart Association that is designed to bring awareness to ending heart disease and stroke in women. Launched in 2004, the event has grown into a worldwide movement with the aim to reduce barriers and increase access towards achieving better health and well-being. Versant Health’s goal in participating in the event is to highlight the role that eye health has in empowering women to take care of their hearts and body, using education, advocacy and research.

“I am extremely honored to be named the 2021 Chair of the American Heart Association’s Baltimore Go Red for Women campaign,” said Davis. “I am excited to be part of a movement that advocates for women’s health while also bringing awareness to health disparities that exist, particularly for women of color.”

The Go Red for Women Baltimore campaign will kick off on National Wear Red & Give Day on  February 5, 2021, during which Davis will moderate a panel on women’s health. This year, Versant Health is encouraging people to think about not only their eye health, but also how eye exams and routine vision care can boost overall health outcomes by serving as vehicles for early detection and heart disease prevention.

Other notable dates in the campaign include: The STEM Goes Red event on April 21-22, and the Go Red for Women Luncheon on June 17.
